The Crime Thru Time website was originally created by the listowner of the affiliated CrimeThruTime Yahoo discussion group in 1999. In 2002, the site was passed to Kim Malo, who adopted it and registered the crimethrutime.com domain in June 2003. She hosted and actively developed the website herself until shortly before her unexpected demise in July 2010. Kim pseudonymously applied her passion for historical mysteries there as Webmistress, regularly updating the site with integrity, and greatly expanding the content. She took it through revamps and redevelopments, while still maintaining a non-commercial association with the discussion group and a sister mystery site where she continued to provide professional level book reviews. Kim thus considered the crimethrutime.com website as a joint ownership, with the listowner / sister site owner acting as silent partner. In early 2010, due to an accumulation of creative differences related to commercialization of the site, it appears the time had come to part ways when the silent partner took over all ownership. Kim began development of a completely new As Crime Goes By domain and website, but sadly her life was cut short. Kim was dearly loved, and is sorely missed. In all of her multifaceted volunteer endeavors, Kim was pleased to share her gifts, and truly appreciated the many friends she found along the way. |
